Local Residents Participate in Tamarac Turkey Trot

The 35th Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot was successfully held on Thanksgiving Day (November 26th, 2015). Over 2000 runners participated in the 5k run which started at Tamarac City Hall and looped around the Woodmont community.

The Turkey Trot began first began on Thanksgiving Day in 1980–with 200 runners. Tamarac Parks and Recreation Director Greg Warner says that event aims to promote health and wellness and “brings the community together”.

Walmart Neighborhood Market (just up the street from City Hall) was a major sponsor and race registration fees went towards financing the event.
